Healthy Carrot walnut appe is the best way to help kids enjoy eating carrots! The flavor so delicious with not too much carrot taste so picky eaters won’t mind. I have added dates so that amount of sugar can be reduced and it is healthier. Check Dates appe recipe also.

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Dates - 6-7 pieces
  • Carrot - 2 medium(grated)
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Walnut- 3 tbsp (chopped)
  • Pumpkin seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Sunflower seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Baking powder - 1tsp
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp

Method

Step 1

Grind dates,sugar with half of the milk. Or soak dates in milk for 20 minutes then grind

Step 2

Then grate carrots, and chop walnuts.

Step 3

Now in a bowl add flour, baking powder,baking soda and dates paste mix it add remaining milk.

Step 4

Then add grated carrots, walnut, seeds and cinnamon powder.

Step 5

Keep aside for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Now heat the appe pan on medium flame and grease with 1/4 tsp of oil .

Step 7

Pour 1 tbsp of batter in each mould.

Step 8

Cook using 1 tsp of oil on low flame until the lower surface becomes golden brown.

Step 9

Then turn each appe upside down using the fork so as to cook them from the other side as well.

Step 10

Repeat the same with the remaining batter to make more appe.

Step 11

Healthy carrot walnut Appe is ready to serve.
