Green Chilly Pickle / mirchi ka achaar is a great way to spice up your meal. And this particular green chilly pickle recipe is easy and quick. No preservative is added in this pickle.

Ingredients

  • Green Chilly - 100 gms
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Lemon - 1
  • Onion seed (kalonji) - 1/5 tsp
  • Carom seed (ajwain)- 1/5 tsp
  • Salt - 1 1/2 tsp or as per taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Mango powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard oil - 3 tbsp

Method

Step 1

Wash the green chillies,wipe them dry.Now cut them in two half.

Step 2

Now roast mustard seeds,fennel seeds,fenugreek seeds and coriander seeds and grind coarsely.

Step 3

Now in this coarsely grind spices add salt,turmeric,mango powder,onion seeds,carom seeds.

Step 4

Then heat oil till it is quite hot then cool it and add in the dry powder mixture,and squeeze lemon.

Step 5

Now add green chillies,toss well with the masala.

Step 6

Take clean,dry ,air tight jar and pour the green chillies into them.

Step 7

Cover and store them for 2 days before consuming.

Step 8

After 2 days your green chilly pickle is ready to serve.
