Hung Curd is my favorite, most versatile ingredient of my kitchen. From dessert to Kebab, dip to spread numbers of healthy recipes can be made with hung curd. Hung curd can easily be made at home, it is made by straining the plain curd to get rid of excess fat and water. Greek curd is known as hung curd in India.Hung curd is higher in protein so helps in weight loss.

Note: Don’t use sour curd. And use the curd made with whole milk/full cream milk.


  • Curd - 500 gms
  • Strainer -1
  • Muslin cloth
  • Bowl


Step 1

In a deep bowl keep the strainer, make sure it doesn't touches the base of the bowl.

Step 2

Line it with a clean muslin cloth.

Step 3

Pour the curd inn muslin cloth.

Step 4

Whey will start dripping. keep the bowl along with strainer in refrigerator over night.

Step 5

Extra water will drip out and creamy hung curd will remain inside the muslin cloth.

Step 6

Scrap hung curd and keep it in another bowl.

Step 7

Now you can make any dessert, spread or dip with it.
