A simple yet very tempting dish of potato (Aloo). In this recipe potato is cooked with cumin seeds and some basic spices.


  • Potato : 4 medium size(boiled)
  • Cumin powder:1/2 tsp
  • Corriender powder:1/2 tsp
    Turmeric powder:1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder:1/2 tsp
  • Tomato: 1 small(chopped)
  • Asafoetida: a pincha
  • Cumin seed:1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Amchoor powder:1/2 tsp
  • Fresh corriender: chopped


Step 1

First off all cut the boiled potato in cubes .In a small bowl mix cumin powder,Corriender powder,Turmeric powder,Red chilly powder and salt.

Step 2

In a pan add oil heat it then add asafoetida and cumin seed into it.Then add dry masala mixture saute for few seconds then add potato and again saute for 1-2 minutes add chopped tomato and mix and cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes so that tomato tenders then add amchoor powder saute for 1 minute. garnish with fresh corriender and serve.
