Kacche kele Ke kofte is a fried dumpling made using raw banana and is curried into a spicy gravy. This kele ke kofte goes well with roti, patatha or rice. Kele ke kofte tastes very yummy.
- For Kofta
- Kacche Kele / Raw Banana - 5 nos.
- Potato - 1 large (boiled)
- Onion - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Green Chilly - 1 tsp (chopped)
- Fresh Coriander - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Besan - 1 tbsp
- Salt -as per taste
- Red Chilly Powder - as per taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
- Oil - for deep frying
- For Gravy
- Onion - 1 medium (diced)
- Tomato - 1 large (diced)
- Green Chilly - 2-3
- Garlic - 4-5 cloves
- Ginger -1/2 "
- Salt - as per taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilly powder - as per taste
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Seed - 1/2 tsp
- Fresh Cream - 1/2 tbsp (optional)
- Oil - 2 tbsp
TO MAKE KOFTA
Do not peel the banana,put the raw banana in the pressure cooker,along with half cup of water and pressure cook. After 1 whistle lower the flame and cook for 3-4 minutes
Then peel the banana and mash it and add boiled mashed potato,chopped onion,green chilly,fresh coriander leave, turmeric powder,salt ,garam masala,red chilly powder and besan. Mix and make pliable dough
Now make small balls of this dough,and deep fry these balls and keep it aside.
TO MAKE GRAVY
Boil diced onion, garlic,green chilly and tomato for 3-4 minutes. Then grind all these along with ginger and make fine paste.
Now in a kadai heat oil and put cumin seeds and let it splutter.
Then add onion paste fry for 1 minute on medium flame then add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,salt,coriander powder and garam masala and fry on low flame till oil separates. Then add 1 cup of water and boil and adjust the consistency.
Then slip in the kofta and simmer for few minutes.Garnish with chopped coriander leave.
Kele ka kofta is ready to eat.
