Matar Paratha / Green Pea Paratha is a scrumptious stuffed paratha recipe.
This spicy paratha has unique taste.Enjoy Matar paratha is a winter season.
- FOR DOUGH
- Whole Wheat Flour - 2 1/2 cup
- Satl - 1/2 tsp
- Water - as much required to make soft dough
- FOR STUFFING
- Matar / Green Peas - 200gms (deshelled)
- Potato - 1 large (diced)
- Cumin seed - 1/4 tsp
- Green Chilly - 3-4 (chopped)
- Onion - 1 Medium (chopped)
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilly Powder - as per taste
- Salt - as per taste
- Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
- Vegetable oil
In a bowl put Wheat flour,salt mix it and add water. Knead and make soft dough.
In a pan boil 3 cups of water add diced potato and boil for 2 minutes then add de-shelled mater / green peas and boil on medium flame .Until potato and peas are cooked.
Then strain excess water and let it cool.
After that put this boiled potato and peas in grinder and make paste.if needed add little water.
Now heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add cumin seed and let it splutter then add green chilly and sauté for 5 seconds.
Then add chopped onion and fry on medium flame, when it turns golden add turmeric powder,red chilly powder,garam masala and salt.Give a nice stir.
Then add potato & peas paste and fry on medium flame.
In between keep on stirring so that it does not sticks in pan,and fry so that excess moisture is removed.
Remove from flame and let it cool.
For making parathas pinch out a lemon sized ball from the dough,roll out into a small disc.
Place spoonful of filling in the middle and bring the edges together to completely cover the filling.The edges should overlap slightly to seal the masala.
Now gently flatten the filled ball. Dust with flour and roll out to a flat disc of about 5-6 inches.
Heat a tava (griddle) place the stuffed paratha and apply oil on both side,turn over time to time and cook till both sides turn golden brown.
Serve Matar Paratha / green peas patratha with curd or chutney.
