Pyaaz ki roti / Onion roti is a simple and tasty dish. Instead of regularly eating roti sabzi dal somtimes for a change we can have this pyaaz ki roti/onion roti. For all onion lovers this pyaaz ki roti/onion rotis are must have. Pyaaz ki roti tastes good with curd or baigan ka bharta. This roti is especially liked in winter or monsoon.If you are making this roti for kids then just skip green chilies.
- Wheat flour - 2 cup
- Onion - 2 medium (chopped)
- Green Chilies - 2 (chopped)
- Oil - 2 tbsp or Ghee - 50 gms
- Carom seeds/ ajwain -1/4 tsp
- Onion seeds/kalongi - 1/4 tsp
- Fresh coriander - 2 tbsp (optional)
- Salt as per taste
- Oil for shallow frying
Chop onion green chilies and coriander leave very fine.
To make dough put wheat flour, salt, ajwain,onion seed in a bowl and mix well.
Rub in ghee or oil.
Then add onion, coriander leave and green chilies mix thoroughly.
Then slowly pour water as per the requirement and knead.
After kneading divide dough in 5 or 6 equal portions.
Now rotate each portion between your palm to make smooth balls.
Dust each balls in the flour and roll out to a roti.But this pyaz ki roti will be thicker than normal roti.
Cook on a nonstick pan till boll sides are cooked and turns lightly brown.
Serve hot with chutney, pickle or Baigan ka bharta.
