Roasted Garlic Hummus

Hummus is a Middle Eastern  spread or dip made from chickpeas.Hummus, on the whole is a healthy and a convenient food with many benefits which can be incorporated into almost any meal. Chickpea is the primary ingredient in hummus, is rich in protein. It is vegans as their diet resolves around vegeterian food and non dairy products.

Use hummus as a spread on your favorite wrap and sandwich and skip the mayo or creamy dressing.

Ingredients

  • Chickpeas - 1 cup
  • Garlic - 4-5 cloves
  • Green chilly- 2 or as per your taste
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil - 3 tbsp
  • Sea salt - as per taste or normal salt
  • Lemon- 1 tbsp
  • Water- 1/2 cup + 3-4tbsp

Method

Step 1

Soak Chickpeas for 6-7 hours. Then boil it with 1/2 cup of water and salt for 15 minutes. Or you can use canned chickpeas.

Step 2

In a wok dry roast sesame seeds,garlic and green chillies.

Step 3

Now grind roasted ingredients, then add boiled chickpeas,olive oil,salt, lemon juice, 3-4 tbsp of water and grind.

Step 4

If needed add more water, grind until smooth and creamy.

Step 5

Serve with pita bread, chips or vegetables. You can store in airtight container for 3 days in refrigerator.
